Your appointment is an independent medico-legal assessment relating to a personal injury claim and is not a treatment consultation.

A medico-legal report may be prepared for use in connection with your personal injury claim.

Independent medical experts act objectively and do not represent either party involved in the claim.

What To Expect

Booking Your Appointment

Once instructions are received by the expert, the expert or administration team will contact you within 48 hours to arrange an appointment as close as reasonably possible to your postcode and at a convenient time for you.

Appointment confirmations are sent securely through the Trikon Digital portal with email and SMS reminders.

Prior To Your Appointment, you may receive a secure check-in link allowing you to:
  • Confirm your attendance
  • Complete an optional digital medical questionnaire
  • Provide additional information that may assist the expert during the assessment

During The Assessment

During the appointment, the expert will:

✓ Discuss the accident circumstances
✓ Review your injuries and symptoms
✓ Discuss the effect of the injuries on your daily activities, employment, hobbies, and home life;
✓ Review relevant medical information where appropriate;
✓ Carry out a clinical examination if required.

Following the assessment, the expert will prepare an independent medico-legal report for the Court and/or instructing parties.

Where applicable, reports may be uploaded to the Official Injury Claim (OIC) portal within 48 hours following completion of the appointment, subject to receipt of all necessary information and records.

Reasonable clarification requests or amendments relating to the report will normally be reviewed within 3 working days, subject to the independent obligations of the medical expert.

Payments

Litigants in Person (LiP)

If your case has been accepted onto the Official Injury Claim (OIC) LiP Portal, the cost of the medical report is normally paid by the compensator. Triam Health and the expert will not contact you directly requesting payment for the medico-legal report

Agency or Solicitor Instructions

Where your appointment has been arranged through a solicitor, agency, or Medical Reporting Organisation (MRO), fee arrangements are managed directly between the instructing organisation and the expert. You will not normally be required to make payment directly.

Your information is handled confidentially and securely in accordance with:

  • UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR)
  • Data Protection Act 2018
  • Applicable medico-legal obligations
  • MedCo requirements where applicable

Medico-legal reports and relevant information may be shared only with:

  • The instructing solicitor
  • Insurer
  • Rehabilitation provider
  • Court
  • Medical Reporting Organisation (MRO)
  • Other authorised parties directly involved in the claim

Triam Health may use Trikon Digital Ltd as a secure technology provider for appointment management, communications, digital questionnaires, document management, and secure report workflows.

All digital communications and records are protected using appropriate security and confidentiality measures.
